The Eastern Iowa Paleontology Project (EIPP) is a regional effort to promote science literacy and education through the wonder of paleon-tology. The EIPP was organized in the spring of 2005 under the leadership of Don Johnson of Cedar Rapids. In the fall of 2005, the EIPP sponsors pooled their financial resources to bring a special fossil to Iowa, the unprepared fossil skeleton of “Laura, the Juvenile Duck-billed Dinosaur.” After much promotion since that time, “Laura, the Kid Dinosaur” has truly become Iowa’s Celebrity Dinosaur!

The EIPP is an Iowa nonprofit corporation that has plans to put “Laura, the Kid Dinosaur” on public display in Eastern Iowa as the foundation for a variety of future world-class paleontology exhibits. Such exhibits might be part of an existing museum/science center, or part of a new museum effort.
