HELP US BRING “LAURA THE KID DINOSAUR” BACK TO LIFE!
The EIPP is partnering with Cycad Productions Ltd. (CPL) of Watermill, New York, to bring “Laura the Kid Dinosaur” back to life! Roby Braun, CPL President, will be sculpting a 1:4 scale detailed life restoration of Laura using measurements from her fossil skeleton. CPL has over 30 years of experience developing exhibits featuring full-scale ancient life restorations worldwide! Click here to learn more about Cycad Productions Ltd. Roby is donating $7,000 of this $8,000 project in the form of research, design, sculpting, molding and casting fees as well as some material costs. He will also keep a journal of sketches and photographs of this project and make it available to the EIPP. The EIPP will use this journal and the Laura life restoration for educational purposes and to promote our future dinosaur exhibit. Roby and his company will become EIPP Sponsors in the “Lifetime Donor” category. We just have to come up with the other $1,000 to pay the remainder of material costs. I’m donating $200 toward this exciting new opportunity myself. The EIPP is initiating a fundraising campaign for the remaining $800 and you are invited to participate!
The recommended minimum donation is $20, although we will accept donations of any amount. Giving categories are as follows: EIPP Friends ($20+), Patrons ($50+), Donors ($250+), and Lifetime Donors ($1000+). All those giving towards this project will be invited to a special private unveiling of the Laura life restoration to include a display of Laura’s fossil skeleton after the project is completed early next year. This special event will include refreshments and a slide show of Roby’s journal of the project. This special event will occur prior to any public showing of the Laura life restoration. Be among the first to see “Laura the Kid Dinosaur” brought back to life!
Any funds received in excess of the $800 needed for this project will be used by the EIPP to further our mission (web site redesign, CPL conceptual drawings for future projects, promotional brochures, educational program expenses, etc) so we are encouraging donations at all levels of giving. All those giving at least $20 will be listed as EIPP Sponsors on our web site and traveling informational display. All EIPP Lifetime Donors will receive a free replica of Laura’s fossil skull after its restoration is complete.
In order to donate, make checks out to “EIPP” and mail to EIPP, 711 Commercial Ct, Fairfax, IA 52228. The EIPP is an Iowa 501(c)(3) Nonprofit Corporation – your donation is tax deductible. Please send your donation now since this fundraising effort will conclude no later than February 15, 2010!
With your financial assistance we will be able to complete this important new project. Thank you in advance for helping bring Laura, Iowa’s Celebrity Dinosaur, back to life! If you have any specific questions, you can contact EIPP President Don Johnson at donald-johnson@mchsi.com or call 319-213-1390. It is our hope that this new partnership with Cycad Productions Ltd. will continue for many years to come! Click here to see many more pictures of their work!
